Using Drones for Corn Nitrogen Management – An On-Farm Field Day Hosted by Stevens Farm - Video
This video was recorded on Thursday, July 19 th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Emily Oestmann, student intern at Nebraska Extension in Nemaha County recorded and produced this video. The video begins with an introduction about SARE, the Farmer/Rancher Grant Program and Partnership Grant program by Gary Lesoing, Extension Educator and Nebraska State SARE Coordinator. Laura Thompson, Nebraska On-Farm Research Network & Ag Technology Extension Educator and Dean Stevens then discuss Using Drones Based Sensors for Variable Rate Aerial Nitrogen Application on Corn. John Lueger, GIS/Contract Specialist with Heinen Brothers Agri Services follows and explained about Variable Rating Nitrogen from an Aerial Perspective. After lunch Nathan Thompson discussed drones and gave a live drone demonstration. This field day was part of Stevens Farms SARE Funded Farmer/Rancher Grant. Results of the 2017 Project are published and available at: https://cropwatch.unl.edu/2018/2017-farm-research-results-now-online . This fall, data will be collected and reported in the 2018 On-Farm Research Report.
